Thailand Trip- One day tour

Day Two
Before we came to Thailand, our in-charge(Pauline) had booked a one-day tour she found.

 Ready to set off.

The van which we will be using for the day.

Drinks and wet tissue prepared by him.
Out of Bangkok district, our tour guide for the day, Nut, told us that the bridge opposite us, is the longest bridge.
And let me tell u, it is indeed the longest bridge.
And its name after their king.
Couldn't recall the name of it. But i remembered that the meaning is something like 'king nine'.

During the 3 hours car journey, most of us concussed.
Of course not that unglam like him.

we saw this mickey mouse bus along our way.

On the way, Nut showed us how their salts where from.
The white block-like thingy is the salts they managed to dry it from the sea water for 1 week.
Along the stretch of road, is full of shops selling the salts.
The salts can be used as body scrub too.
Nut bought us one packet to try.
I think this packet cost 20/ 40 baht.
And yes, it is that cheap to buy from there.

On the way there, we saw these bunch of people celebrating for something.
Nut explained that. Far behide, a man sitting on a car- like thingy, is going to become a monk.
So all his family members and relatives were very happy for him.
We asked Nut if he became a monk before too.
He said he didn't. He said that its a choice, not a must. Just that when one become a monk, it will bring luck and blessings from the god to the family clan.

 Our first stop..
Maeklong station.
If you are wondering why Nut brought us here, continue reading.
And you'll find out something interesting later on. ;)
Group photo.

This is our tour guide for the day
Nut

Now, I'm gonna show you a video of Mr Kua video-ing what happens to the market when the train comes.

While waiting for the train to come(it was late),Nut suddenly asked if we eat frogs.
Assuming that it is 田鸡 that we normally eat, we said of course.
But......

This is the frog he is referring to.
It is literally a FROG!

See how shocked am I.
 青蛙王子
Nut brought to walk around the area.
Fresh Market.

exotic food that they sell

 Octopus? sotong?

 catfish

Inner fresh market.

Super big Thai Ice Milk Tea for me.
Superb nice.
*Thumbs up*
Back into the van to another destination

Cool? or sleeping?
LOL

 Famished.
Time for lunch

Nut and Mr Kua deciding what to order.

 My watermelon juice =D

Mr Kua's teh.
Uncle right, I know.

 coconut juice

 Dried Duck.
Didn't eat this before.
Surprisingly nice to me.

 Morning glory

Fishcake

 Minced pork
I accidentally ate a few of the green chilli.
It was extremely SPICY!!
But me likey. Hehe.
 Beef

Tom Yum Goong
During the trip, this is the best Tom Yum I had.
Spicyness: 4/5
2 thumbs up.
All fingers up.LOL

This particular soup is recommended by Nut.
I forgot the name of it.
Erm, none of us liked it. Taste weird.
But, Nut told us that this soup is good for women especially after giving birth.Replenish blood or something like that.
Not relevent to any of us at that point of time. Haha

Now, next destination.
 Erawan National Park.
Why we came here?
Because of the WATERFALL!!
If you have noticed, I've changed my pants.
Hehe.
There's a total of 7 levels of waterfall where you can choose to go.
To the highest level,7, Nut said that could take up to 1 day to reach there.
Of course we are not going to waste of time.

 Level 1

 Directions

Level 2

There is fishes in the water.
Free fish spa

It is scorching hot over there.
37 degrees or more.
And we are like climbing higher and higher.

A place to rest and take picture.

 Filled with tourists.
So we decided to move higher.

 Level 4!

Wasn't able to play long enough. Cause it is getting late, the security was chasing us to get to the lower ground.
We went to level 2 to play for a while before we move on to the next stop.
While walking downhill, my hair was semi dried up already, now you could inmagine how hot it is over there.
Went to change and off we go to the next stop.
Ride on elephants

Too bad, wasn't able to ride on the elephants because we spent too much time playing at the waterfall le. HAHA.

We went to the Death Railway instead.
Cute little boy welcomed us by cycling around us. =D

 Bomb.(Of course a fake one)
This is the exact place where the bomb landed during world war 2.

This is the railway which cost lots of lives.
Till today, there are still trains using this tracks.
Nut was saying that he will teach us how to hide when the train comes.
Too bad we missed the train timing. =(

Along the the tracks, there is this 'big cave'.
So we went in and explore.
Big statue of Buddha.
In WW2, this cave is used to place small Japanese aircraft.
Actually behide there is a smll passage way to go in.
But the hole was like freaking small! Only dwarfs can go in.
Cannot imagine how the Japanese get in last time.
Are they really that small size?
Sunset

Small girl who lived there came up to us to ask for donating to a nearby temple.

Yes Sir, Yes Madams. (In leticia's accent)
 Getting late. Time for dinner!
lol

Nut bought us to the Bangkok biggest street food to have our dinner.(this is not supposed to let his mum know that he brought us here to eat. Its not in the itinerary.)
To be truth, from my opinion, the foods here isn't enough for Singaporeans. The portion is so much smaller than what we usually have back in Singapore.

 Infamous Ice cream store there.
It is being featured on a lot of different television programmes.

 Tried out the chocolate flavour.
Nice :)

The stall owner wanted us to take photo together.
He didn't know where to stand so, decided to separate Mr Kua and I.

Awkward.

The stall owner knows mandarin too. So he was telling us that he is coming to Singapore to perform at Hougang Mall in May!
 Uncle's favourite pose.

Ate bird nest before we went back to our hotel.

Overall the service provided by Nut is really good.
If I were to go to Thailand again, I would definitely engage his service again.
=D
